SciGirls

Marie Domingo, a TV producer, was searching for a group of girls to feature in a bilingual episode of SciGirls, a PBS Kids show that encourages girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. When she heard about an all-girls robotics team, she arranged an August interview which resulted in filming a 30 minute segment on industrial engineering. The girls, mentors and parents viewed a sneak preview in December 2017. PBS stations began showing the episode in February 2018 in North and South America. The girls hope the bilingual episode encourages more young girls to become active in the fun and rewards of engineering.

When our team heard that P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School from Gainesville, FL watched the episode of SciGirls that our team was featured in, we decided to give them a surprise that they would never forget! Check out the video below to learn more about we used our newfound star status to help inspire the next wave of engineers.
