Hartford Elementary
In the past three years, Degrees of Freedom has mentored 19 FLL teams and 8 Jr FLL teams, with 60 kids in total. The girls of Degrees of Freedom come every Saturday to Hartford Sylvia Encinas Elementary School from 9am to 3pm to mentor. To promote sustainability within our community, DOF offers free robotics classes to their community and kids from ages 6 and up. The kids not only compete in FIRST Robotics, but also learn: programming, presentation, and research skills. Students also learn the Engineering Design Process and Gracious Professionalism. DOF has been involved in Hartford for about four years, after many of the team members have participated themselves in the FLL competition.
